Produced at our own quarry in Yeongju
Samil Industry extracts and supplies landscape stone, riprap, crushed stone and boulders from its quarry in Yeoreuk-ri, Anjeong-myeon, Yeongju. The company was incorporated in 2019 and founded the Yeongju Quarrying Council the same year.
Between 2022 and 2024 the company supplied public-works material to Bonghwa-gun, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, the Northern Gyeongbuk Construction Office, Uljin-gun, Yeongdeok-gun, Yecheon-gun, Chilgok-gun, the Nakdong River Basin Environmental Office (Ministry of Environment) and Gumi Water & Sewage — for river disaster prevention, flood recovery, small-stream improvement and ecological river restoration works.

How to read the size
Sizes are given as three axes in millimetres. Because the stone is irregular blasted rock, each axis is managed within ± 20% of the specified working size.
Sizes are written as height × width × back length. So 500 × 600 × 700 is 500 mm high, 600 mm wide and 700 mm deep.
- Height
- Vertical dimension once placed — it sets the height of each course.
- Width
- Dimension across the exposed face — the size of stone seen in the wall.
- Back length
- Dimension running into the slope — it governs the stability of the masonry.

Stacking methods and where they are used
The shape and size of stone required depends on the stacking method in the drawings. The definitions below follow standard Korean industry usage.
Dry stacking · 메쌓기
DRY STACKING
Stacking in which the gaps between stones are filled with stone only, without mortar.
Used where drainage matters: river revetments and small-stream improvement.
Mortar stacking · 찰쌓기
MORTAR STACKING
Mortar is applied to the joints between stones and the back of the stones is filled with concrete.
Used where structural stability comes first: fast-flow sections, road retaining walls.
Face stacking · 면쌓기
FACE STACKING
Stones are aligned so their flat faces show outward. Exists in both mortar and dry variants.
Used where appearance matters: urban streams, park boundary masonry.
Stone pitching · 돌붙임
STONE PITCHING · SLOPE UNDER 45°
Stones are laid horizontally on slopes of less than 45 degrees.
Used for gentle slope protection and revetments in ecological river restoration.
Landscape stone stacking · 조경석 쌓기
LANDSCAPE STONE STACKING
Landscape stone stacked in terraces or in a natural arrangement.
